Book Proposal Time
And the good news is that the agent I want is interested in my Girlfriend's Guide to Dating a Poker Player. She's asked me to write a book proposal with only one sample chapter in it and she already knows the perfect editor for it. She never takes books like this, but with poker being so hot right now, she thinks it stands a chance.
It's going to be a small, and extremely humorous take on how a woman can snag a poker player for a boyfriend, and then how to deal with him (and the lifestyle) once she's got him.
Even more good news is that my poker loving boyfriend just bought us tickets to Lithuania. That means if I can get the book proposal done by the end of the month, I'm off to seclusion in Vilnius to write it the first half of February. Considering its cheeky tone, I should be able to make some good progress. And, if Lady Luck is shining on us, we'll be off to the European Poker Tour French Open (Feb 8-11) and I'll get to add some real flavor to the advice I'll be spitting.
Yes, they have high speed internet access over there, so I'll still be blogging away. I don't leave until Jan. 28. And all of this is really good namebuilding for my travel/gambling TV show I want to have. By the time I get a show, I'll be the author of two books, Night + Day Las Vegas and the Girlfriend's Guide to Dating a Poker Player, plus the gossip columnitst for BLUFF, and the "Men of Poker" writer for Woman Poker Player.
Build your niches, people. Bylines will follow.
