Pete McCarthy Dies at 51

mccarthy.jpg Even if you don't recognize his name, you&#39ll recognize his books. Pete McCarthy was the author of the best selling McCarthy's Bar and The Road to McCarthy. From the BBC,

    I was reading Mccarthys bar when I heard of Pete' death and felt as sad as if I had lost a personal friend. What a great legacy to have touched so many people. condolences to his family and friends on their sad loss.

    I am 90% through McCarthy's Bar and having a wonderful time of it -- especially since my wife and two great friend's hit may of the same spots some 10-15 years ago. But, I never knew who "The Edge" was because I never paid much attention to U2 (my kids did) until today when I read the review of their performance here in Ottawa. Then I looked on the web and found that Peter had passed away. All this to say, I too was saddened at the loss of this great writer and I wish that I could convey same to his family. PS: The same disease took my brother-in-law at age 51.)
