Advanced Travel Writing Classes with Larry Habegger

If you're looking to take your travel writing to the next level, you'll want to get in on one of Larry Habegger's classes. He's teaching another advanced class in San Francisco, flying down to LA to teach "The Personal Travel Story: Art, Craft, Inspiration" at Distant Lands, and back by popular demand -- continuing his seminars at Book Passage. (Psst...two spots left in the advanced class, you better hurry) Travel Writing Classes Travelers' Tales Executive Editor Larry Habegger will conduct three personal travel writing classes this fall. One-Day Intensive On October 2 he'll be teaching his popular one-day intensive travel writing class, The Personal Travel Story: Art, Craft, Inspiration at Distant Lands in Pasadena. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., $95. Sign up here. He'll offer the same class at Book Passage in Corte Madera, CA on November 6. Master Class Beginning October 7 and running for seven consecutive Thursdays he'll conduct an advanced personal travel writing workshop for in depth study of the craft and close critiquing of each participant's work. After the seven sessions the workshop may transform into an ongoing master class that meets once or twice a month, similar to the popular class he's been conducting since September 2003.     Slightly off topic, but I was browsing the website of Travellers Tales. It seems after, Whose Panties are these, another book is being contemplated. Will you be editing this? I am sure a lot of us want to know this.

    Huh? I'm not sure what you mean Dusty. Let me go look at their Submit a Story page. TT is constantly doing new books, and always have a women's title in their line up. Marybeth Bond is doing A Woman's Asia. I think it's safe to assume that I'll do the next women's humor book, but we don't have one on the calendar yet. We're loosely discussing Spring 2006, but no plans to count on yet. First we have to see if Panties can live up to the SIMB wave. OK, I just looked at the submission page and they are accepting stories for another women's humor book. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be the one to do it, but you know life...nothing is a done deal until it happens. I know that we're already thinking about a title for the third, and I've started going to the gym on the off chance that can be on a future book cover. Other than that, I need to focus on Panties for the time being. There's still lot to do, and this marketing part of the process is my favorite bit!
